Lučica JK Split

In the suburb of Split, called Špinut, lies a port on the Southeast shore of Kaštel Bay on the northern side of the Marjan peninsula. There are two sections within the port - one operated by PŠD Špinut, and a smaller section, operated by the JK Split sailing club, referred to as Lučica JK Split Marina. There is a long breakwater protecting the port from both North and West winds.

Split is a major tourist hub in Croatia and one of the most popular yacht charter bases on the Dalmatian coast. Most of the berths are occupied by club members and local boats, but visiting yachts are welcomed if there is space.

Lučica JK Split Marina is a good as a base or a stopover while exploring the Marjan Peninsula, and the islands in the area. You can sail south to the islands of Brac, Hvar, and Vis or cruise the Makarska Riviera.

Approach is quite simple. Coming from Split, head west towards the Marjan peninsula and as you approach its tip, watch out for the green light buoy just north of Cape Marjan to starboard and continue east along the peninsula for one mile until you reach the marina. Entrance is on the eastern side, between the breakwater and a pontoon.

Facilities

Lučica JK Split Marina has 400 sea berths, all supplied with water and electricity. Water depth in this section of the port is about 3 m, while the depth at the entrance of the port is 7 m. There are also 90 dry berths, 5T and 1.5T cranes and a 15T travel lift. 

Other facilities include a toilet and shower facilities, a café, nautical equipment shop, and a restaurant.

Špinut Marina is just 2 km from the centre of Split where there are many other amenities such as shopping centres, a hospital, sports and wellness centres, and a vibrant nightlife.
