On the verdant island of Ugljan, in the Zadar archipelago lies Preko Marina. It is located in the centre of Preko town, 3 nautical miles west of Zadar. A well-known tourist destination, the marina has many conveniences and facilities for the sailor. It is a lovely place to pick up a charter boat and explore the surrounding islands of the Zadar archipelago and the Kornati islands are also easily accessible. The marina is open all year and offers winter berthing. It is well sheltered, although an East wind can bring swell into the marina.
Approach is straightforward. Preko is also the main ferry port for ferries coming in from Zadar.
Preko Marina has 87 sea berths, all of which are equipped with water and electricity. Berthing assistance is also available. Sailing yachts with a length of 20 m can be berthed here and mega yachts up to 60 m, with a maximum draft of 5.5m can moor on the outside of the breakwater. Water depths within the marina range from 2 to 4 m. There are no dry berths, but basic repair and maintenance services can be found in nearby Sutomišćica.
Other facilities at the marina include a reception, sanitary facilities a launderette, and fuel supply services. There is Wi-Fi available throughout the marina. In terms of waste facilities there is garbage recycling station and waste water discharge point.
The marina is an integral part of Preko town, the biggest settlement on the island. Preko has many essential facilities for a sailing holiday such as an ATM, supermarket, bars and restaurants supplies stores and a local fish and grocery market. There are also a few scuba diving centres and a fuel station.
Additional services may be provided on request such as boat inspection, battery charging and transport by speedboat from Zadar.
Preko is directly opposite Zadar and can be reached by ferry from there. The closest airport is Zadar International Airport.
