Bavaria 38 Cruiser

Boat Model Overview

We’ve advised many guests on Bavaria Yachts over the years, and the Bavaria 38 Cruiser remains one of the most balanced choices for a sailing holiday with a practical layout. According to the manufacturer’s published specifications for this model family, the Bavaria 38 Cruiser is offered as a cruising sailing yacht designed for comfortable handling under charter conditions. We can also say with confidence that its popularity comes from the way it combines a manageable sail plan with a stable, seagoing hull form—exactly what our clients look for when they want relaxed days on the water!

From our experience, the “38 Cruiser” is commonly chartered in two configuration variants. The first version provides three cabins with six berths in the cabins and one WC. The second version retains the three-cabin arrangement but adds two extra berths, again with one WC, which is useful when groups want flexibility without stepping up to a larger yacht class. Actually, we have noticed that this difference matters a lot in real bookings, because it affects sleeping comfort more than people expect.

For technical cruising use, the yacht is typically sailed with a crewless or skipper-assisted setup, depending on the charter contract and local requirements. We recommend checking the operator’s configuration before departure, because the berth count can change the interior layout assignments. Our guests who have trusted us usually prefer the variant that best matches their group size—quiet nights are part of the holiday, too.

Regarding the sailing charter period, published charter pricing we’ve seen for this model typically falls in the range of about €1,193.60 to €2,415.60 per week, with an average around €1,549.00. We state with certainty that the final rate depends on season, base port, and whether the yacht is provided in the smaller or extended berth setup.

On the destination side, we have observed strong demand for this Bavaria 38 Cruiser in multiple countries, and guests often book it as a “three-region” favorite for coastal cruising. If you tell us your preferred month and departure marina, we’ll help you match the right configuration to your route—no guesswork.
