“Sailing vacation on boat Oceanis 393 out of Sukosan We had a wonderful vacation in Croatia with a lot of sunshine and swimming this year! As for the charter conditions we have the following comments: The base Sukosan is OK which means clean and orderly. People are nice and everything is available. The restaurant at the base is rather expensive but that is unfortunately not unusual. There is a parking fee of 40 Kuna per day which has to be paid additionally. The local employees at the charter company are very nice and helpful. The Austrian employees/owners are somewhat less friendly but still OK. The sheets were very good and the cleaning of the boat was in general also very good. Unfortunately had the crew before us kept gasoline in water bottles in the cockpit hatch which resulted in gasoline smell in the starboard aft cabin throughout the whole week which was a bit annoying. The boat was unfortunately a little bit of a disappointment as we choose that boat type due to its good sailing ability. Due to worn out sails (for all the mail sail) and a much too small furling mainsail her sailing ability was a bit crippled. Further on did the engine fail once as it didn't respond to the throttle. After waiting a while everything worked again so after checking with the charter company we decided to continue. Finally my wife found that the kitchen equipment was a bit poor. She was missing some bowls and stuff to serve bread and salad etc in. More serious did I find that the boat only had one fire extinguisher which was placed inside the boat under the seat of the navigation place. Regarding anchorages we can recommend the bay of Sacharun. Veli Rat Marina in OK but one should avoid the fish restaurant in Veli Rat as it is very expensive and not good. Piskera is very beautiful but there is no good place for the kids to swim. Zadar is beautiful and we can recommend the restaurant "Skolbar" at Trg. Petra Zoranica b.b. Peter Jocic, Sweden ”
