Sun Odyssey 45

Yacht Model Overview

From our experience in the charter business, the Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 45 is a dependable choice for guests who want proper sailing performance without making everything complicated. We have seen many of these boats stay in rotation because the design ages well and the layout works in real life, not just on paper.

According to Jeanneau’s published specifications for this generation, the Sun Odyssey 45 is a sailing yacht intended for coastal and longer passages. The model was offered for charter in the 2005–2007 period, and in that range charter operators commonly prepared it with four cabins. In the standard 4‑cabin configuration, it accommodates eight berths in cabins, with two heads (two WC). We also observed a second common variant in the charter market where two additional berths were added, still with two WC. That difference matters for families and groups—suddenly the boat feels either spacious or more “tight,” depending on which setup you book.

We advise booking with clarity on the exact cabin plan for your dates. Our guests who have trusted us usually appreciate the practical flow on board: morning routines, quick sail handling, and comfortable evenings after a day under wind. Actually, the “45” size is often where people stop compromising. It’s large enough for comfort, yet manageable for a competent crew.

On pricing, charter weekly rates reported in the market for this model typically fall between about 1,965.12 and 3,516.67 EUR, with an average around 2,452 EUR. We can say with confidence that the variation is mostly seasonal and destination-related, and also depends on whether you choose the configuration with extra berths.

From our knowledge, operators have used this model across multiple countries, and it has been particularly popular for sailing‑focused charters in four regions. If you want a classic cruising sailboat feel—steady, balanced, and ready for real vacation days—this Jeanneau fits the profile.
