Yacht Overview
We’ve guided many guests through Schleswig-Holstein, and the Bavaria 46 Cruiser is one of the most sensible choices we can recommend for a charter or rental sailing trip. Based on our experience, it strikes a practical balance between comfort and handling, especially for crews who want confident navigation without overcomplication.
This sailboat (built in 2008) is designed around a cruising layout with four cabins and berths for up to eight people. The two heads make day-to-day life aboard straightforward, so groups don’t feel squeezed when the weather turns busy. With a length of 14.4 m and a beam of 4.35 m, the hull offers stable, predictable behavior in typical North German waters. Actually, we observed that guests appreciate the width when docking and when moving around the cockpit.
From our knowledge of what matters at sea, the equipment set is geared toward safe, day-by-day use. You’ll find a GPS plotter, radar, and an autopilot for steady course control. Bow thruster assistance helps during low-speed maneuvers—handy in marina traffic! For situational awareness, there’s a barometer, navigation lights, and wind instruments. Safety is addressed with an anchor, liferaft, life belts, and an automatic inflatable life jacket.
On board systems are also practical: hot water and heating extend the season, while the electric anchor windlass reduces workload. For cooking, there’s an oven, stove, and a well-equipped galley with cutlery and kitchen utensils. Even details like the cockpit shower and cockpit table make evenings feel relaxed.
We state with certainty: if you want a cruiser that feels “ready” from the first briefing, this model delivers—quietly, efficiently, and with confidence!
