Nea Peramos Marina

Name: Nea Peramos Marina

Marina/Port Location and Cruising Area

We’ve helped many guests who base their week around Nea Peramos Marina, and we can say with confidence that this is a practical starting point for exploring the Saronic Gulf. The marina is known locally as Nea Peramos Marina and it’s situated in the Megara area, on the Greek mainland side of the Argosaronic Gulf, not far from Athens. From our experience, the big advantage is timing: you can reach open-water cruising routes quickly, without spending the whole day just leaving the harbor.

About getting there: Athens is the obvious reference point for flights. Most visitors fly into Athens International Airport. From there, the road connection toward Megara is straightforward, and a short transfer brings you to the coastal area where the marina sits. We’ve noticed that guests who plan their arrival carefully usually avoid the “rush-hour surprise” on the approach roads around Greater Athens.

Now, what about the sailing itself? Based on what we’ve seen with returning charterers, the Saronic Gulf offers a mix of sheltered coves and classic day-sailing scenery. In a week, it’s realistic to include coastal stopovers around the gulf while planning longer passages only when weather is kind. Depending on your vessel and the season, you can target the region’s well-known island clusters and also spend time in quieter anchor spots between crossings. Even if you stay mostly within the gulf, the coastline changes noticeably—harbors, beaches, and viewpoints come in quick succession.

We also advise planning for ferries and port logistics in advance. The broader Athens–Piraeus area is where you’ll find major ferry services, and that can matter if you’re coordinating crew changes or provisioning. For a one-day outing, we’ve observed that many guests keep it simple: a short cruise, a swim stop, and a relaxed return before evening.

Actually, the most important tip is to confirm the exact berth access and local services with your operator before departure. Small ports can vary by season and by vessel size. When guests who have trusted us do that, the whole trip feels smooth—calm mornings, clear horizon lines, and a satisfying return to Nea Peramos Marina at the end of the day!
