Lučica Biograd

Name: Lučica Biograd

Marina/Port Location and Cruising Area

We’ve advised many guests who chose Lučica Biograd as their departure point, and based on our experience it’s a practical marina for exploring the central Dalmatian coast. Lučica Biograd is located in Biograd na Moru, on the Adriatic side of Dalmatia, which means you can reach open-water routes quickly without losing time in long transfers.

We can’t state with certainty which exact berths, depths, or services are available in every section of the marina from our side here, but we can say confidently that Biograd na Moru is a well-known base for Adriatic sailing because it sits close to several popular island and coastal corridors. Our guests who booked with us so far often plan a one-week route that alternates between protected bays and more exposed passages, depending on wind and their comfort level.

For arrivals, we recommend using Zadar Airport as the main gateway. It’s the closest major airport in the region and it’s commonly used by travelers reaching Biograd na Moru. From there, you can reach the town by road in about an hour in normal traffic conditions, and the marina is then a short local transfer away.

Biograd na Moru itself is also useful logistically. We have noticed that during a day trip, you can easily handle provisioning, small repairs, and supplies before going back to the water. If you prefer public connections, the wider area also connects to the coastal highway network that runs along the Adriatic, so reaching other towns is straightforward.

From Lučica Biograd, sailors typically aim toward Kornati-area landscapes, but even when guests keep it simpler, they still enjoy the variety of nearby islands and coves. We have seen many charters combine stops near larger island coastlines with shorter land-and-sea excursions: beaches along the Dalmatian mainland, quiet inlets, and viewpoints from coastal promenades.

Actually, the best part is flexibility. For a single day, you can cruise along the nearby shoreline and return the same evening. For a week, you can build a route that includes island hopping, scenic anchorages, and calm evenings in the marina. “Just one more bay!” our guests often say—because the coast here keeps offering new options.

According to us, Lučica Biograd works especially well for travelers who want a central starting position in Dalmatia, good road access via the Zadar region, and a realistic plan for both quick outings and full-week cruising.
