Antibes

Name: Antibes

Marina/Port Location and Cruising Area

We’ve advised many guests who chose Antibes as their base, and we can say with confidence that it’s one of the most convenient starts on the French Riviera for a short day trip or a full week. Antibes sits in Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, right on the Mediterranean, between Nice and Cannes, so you get quick access to open-water routes and also to a dense “shoreline world” of coves, harbors, and beaches.

From our experience, most departures in Antibes are linked to the city’s marina facilities and the long-established pleasure-boat infrastructure along the Cap d’Antibes coastline. We have noticed that guests who rent here often plan routes toward Juan-les-Pins, Golfe-Juan, and the Îles de Lérins area. In practice, a day on the water can include a calm look from the sea, then an anchoring stop near the coastline, before returning the same evening. For a week, we’ve seen people progressively extend their range toward Cannes and the Lerins surroundings, keeping the trip manageable without rushing.

Actually, the “big advantage” is logistics. Nice Côte d’Azur Airport is the main international gateway in the region, and it’s well connected by road to Antibes. If you prefer rail, the Antibes train station connects you efficiently to Nice and Cannes, which makes crew changes and supplies easier. For ferry connections, the area around Nice and Cannes is where most regular passenger services are typically concentrated, so you can combine a boat day with land travel if needed.

We also advise planning around seasonal conditions. The Riviera can be busy, and winds can change quickly near headlands. Still, our guests who book with us so far are usually surprised how smooth it feels once they’re used to the coastline.

Nearby landmarks are part of the appeal too. The Cap d’Antibes is a classic stretch for scenic cruising, and the Lerins islands (Saint-Honorat and Sainte-Marguerite) are well known for their natural setting and historic atmosphere. For beaches, you can reach multiple public stretches along the coast by sea, and for scenic stops you’ll find sheltered coves that make a one-week rental feel “full,” not just long.

Based on our knowledge, Antibes is a smart choice whenever you want Riviera convenience, fast departures, and destinations you can realistically reach within a day or two—without turning the trip into a marathon!
