We’ve worked with many sailors who want an easy, comfortable week in the Ionian, and the Sun Odyssey 42i is one of the models we keep recommending. This sailboat, built in 2009, is a charter favorite for guests departing from Preveza, Greece—an ideal base for calm cruising, beautiful bays, and smooth day-to-day sailing.

The boat is 12.85 m long with a beam of 4.13 m, and it’s designed for real life onboard. You’ll find 3 cabins and 2 toilets, so couples and small groups usually feel perfectly at ease. In total, it accommodates 6 berths in the cabins plus 2 additional berths, which we’ve noticed works very well for families or mixed groups who still want privacy.

Purpose-wise, this is a rental-ready setup. Our guests who have trusted us often mention how practical the onboard comforts feel from the first evening. Bedlinen and towels are included, and the galley is equipped with kitchen utensils, cutlery, and the basics you actually use. There’s a refrigerator and a freezer, plus hot water for those “quick rinse” moments after a swim—nice and simple!

Navigation and sailing support are also well chosen for charter conditions. The GPS plotter and autopilot help when you’re covering longer stretches, while the depthsounder and bow thruster reduce stress in tighter harbors. For comfort in changing weather, there’s a bimini top, sprayhood, and a cockpit shower.

We also like the cockpit experience: teak in the cockpit, a cockpit table, and an electric anchor windlass make arrivals feel smooth. And yes—there is a tender with an outboard engine for shore trips. What more can you ask for? Preveza is waiting!
