Lagoon 42 catamaran – Skiathos

Yacht Overview

We’ve chartered plenty of multihulls over the years, and the Lagoon 42 is one of those rare choices that feels “easy” from the very first hour. Based in Skiathos, Greece, this 2024 catamaran is a fresh, modern option for guests who want comfort without complications—especially when you’re planning day trips between coves and longer stays around the Sporades.

With space for 8 guests in 5 cabins, it’s ideal for families or groups of friends who like their privacy. And yes, there are 3 additional sleeping places available, so the layout still works when the crew count grows. From our experience, the cabin arrangement makes morning routines smoother: fewer bottlenecks, more calm.

At 12.8 meters long and 7.7 meters wide, the Lagoon 42 carries its stability with confidence. We’ve noticed guests relax faster on routes where other boats feel busy. The twin-hull design gives a roomy feel onboard, and the shaded cockpit—thanks to the bimini top—turns sunny afternoons into pure pleasure.

On the navigation side, the GPS plotter and autopilot help you keep a steady course, even when the sea gets a little playful. Air conditioning is a big deal in summer; we can say with certainty that it changes the whole evening mood after a hot day ashore.

We also like the practical touches: a watermaker for reliable supply, a generator for everyday power, and a dinghy with an outboard engine for quick landings. For sail handling, the full batten main, lazy jacks, and roll genoa make short-handed sailing more manageable. It’s the kind of catamaran built for charter life—ready, responsive, and welcoming!!
