Boat Overview
We often get asked what a great first step looks like for a bareboat sail vacation in Croatia, and the Dufour 35 from 2015 is one of those boats we can recommend with confidence. Based on our experience with guests who have trusted us, this sailboat works especially well around Sukošan: it’s comfortable for day sailing, yet practical when you plan longer coastal passages.
The vessel is 10.7 m long with a 3.41 m beam, built in 2015, and laid out with 3 cabins. For sleeping arrangements, it offers 6 berths in the cabins plus 2 additional berths. That capacity is a sweet spot for small groups who still want real privacy at night. On board, there is 1 toilet, so planning around shared use is straightforward.
We also observed that sail handling is a major comfort factor on this model. The main sail was renewed in 2023 and the genoa in 2024, which matters when conditions change quickly. For safer, easier reefing, the boat is equipped with rolled sail systems for both the genoa and the main sail, so you can reduce sail area without turning the whole crew into a sail team!
From a practical comfort standpoint, we like the combination of a bimini top and cockpit cushions for shade and relaxed seating. Hot water adds a “real holiday” feeling after swimming. Navigation is supported by a GPS chart plotter, and the autopilot helps keep the course steady when you want to enjoy the scenery.
We should mention the tender as well, because it makes shore access simple when anchoring off the beaches. From our knowledge, guests appreciate the teak finish in the cockpit and the sprayhood in choppy moments—small details, big impact. Ready to cruise? We say go for it!
