Hanse 508 sailing yacht – RHODES

Yacht Overview

We’ve chartered and guided many guests around the Dodecanese, and the Hanse 508 in Rhodes is one of the most balanced choices we’ve seen for a week away. This sailing yacht was built in 2019 and it’s designed for comfortable hosting without feeling bulky. With 6 cabins, it suits groups that want privacy, yet still gather easily in the cockpit. In total, it accommodates 10 berths in cabins plus 1 additional berth—ideal for families, friends, or a mixed crew who like their own space.

From our experience, the sail plan matters as much as the layout, and here the main sail and genoa were renewed in 2024, so performance is crisp right from the start. We also recommend paying attention to the handling: the self-tacking jib reduces workload when you’re cruising, and the full-batten main supports steadier power in changing winds. Add the autopilot and the steering wheel setup, and you’ll feel the yacht “settle” during longer passages.

Rhodes, with its many coves and frequent shifts in breeze, rewards practical onboard systems. Our guests appreciate the bimini top and sprayhood for quick weather protection, while the bow thruster makes docking in tighter marinas far less stressful. The solar panel is a helpful support for daily comfort.

For life on the water, we’ve noticed that the bathing platform and swimming ladder genuinely improve the time at anchor—especially on warm afternoons! The onboard dinghy with an outboard engine makes island-hopping efficient.

If you’re planning a charter or rental in Rhodes, we can say with confidence that this Hanse 508 is a refined, modern sailboat for people who want reliability, space, and easy cruising.
