Boat Overview
We’ve guided many guests through the Aegean and Turkish coasts, and the Fountaine Pajot Lucia 40 catamaran is one of the most well-balanced choices we’ve seen for a comfortable charter. Based in Turkey, this 2020-built sailing cat is designed for easy living aboard, whether you’re planning calm day sails or longer coastal passages. The layout suits groups nicely: it offers 6 berths in 3 cabins, so everyone has a proper space to rest. Actually, that cabin count is exactly why our guests often book it for family weeks and small crew trips—three separate cabins feel “just right”!
From our experience, the size matters for handling and comfort. At 11.73 m length and 6.63 m beam, the catamaran provides stable deck space and a relaxed motion at anchor. We also like the practical onboard setup: there are 2 toilets, which keeps routines smooth during busy cruising days.
For navigation and sail management, we recommend looking closely at the integrated instruments and systems. You’ll have wind/speed/depth information, a GPS plotter, and autopilot for reduced workload when conditions change. It’s the kind of practical equipment that makes the voyage feel effortless—especially in Turkish summer winds. For anchoring, the main anchor and electric anchor windlass help you settle in quickly. When you’re away from the dock, the outboard engine and tender provide the everyday mobility you’ll need.
We state with certainty that the onboard comfort touches stand out for this model: a refrigerator, ice machine, and coffee machine make mornings on the water much more enjoyable! Add a watermaker for extended stays, solar support for energy, and the option for shore connection 220 V, and you get a cruising setup that’s ready for real charter life. Safety equipment is also included, of course—because we never compromise there.

Feeling queasy on a boat? Anyone who suffers from motion sickness will likely feel seasick too. Even the strongest stomachs can turn in rough weather.

Even if it's the first time you have ever been on a boat, learning a few basic knots is not only fun, but useful too. Any competent crew member should be able to tie these basic knots.
