We’ve been arranging Adriatic sailing holidays for many years, and the Bavaria 44 in Zadar is one of those dependable choices our guests keep coming back to. This is a sailboat built in 2003, designed for comfortable chartering and rental use, with a layout that works well for small groups and families.

With 4 cabins, it offers 8 berths in cabins, plus 2 additional sleeping places when you need a little extra flexibility. We think that balance is exactly what makes it practical on week-long itineraries: everyone has privacy, yet the boat still feels “right” when the group grows.

The vessel measures 13.95 m in length and 4.25 m in width, giving it a reassuring presence in the water without becoming difficult to handle. From our experience, the cockpit and deck arrangement feel well thought out for day-to-day sailing in the Croatian coast’s changing conditions. Wind, speed, and depth instruments help you stay confident; the autopilot and the modern GPS chart plotter in the cockpit make navigation calmer—especially during evening approaches near the islands!

We also observed that the sail inventory is well maintained for a 2003 model: the main sail was renewed in 2025, while the genoa dates to 2019 and was renewed in 2019. That matters. It means better performance and more predictable handling.

Inside, the yacht interior refit and the air conditioning keep the atmosphere pleasant, while the two toilets add real convenience for charter comfort. You’ll find essentials for life aboard, including a gas cooker, refrigerator, oven, heating, and kitchen utensils. There’s even a bow thruster for easier docking, plus a bimini top, sprayhood, and cockpit cushions for those “wow, what a view!” moments.
