From our experience, the Dufour 430 is one of those sailboats that feels “ready to go” for guests who want comfort without losing performance. We advise charter and rental clients in Italy to pay close attention to its layout: four cabins accommodate eight berths in cabins, and there are two additional sleeping places when your group needs a little extra flexibility. Built in 2021, this unit is modern in both design language and onboard convenience—actually, it’s the kind of boat our guests describe as clean, bright, and well thought through.

At 13.24 meters length overall and 4.3 meters beam, the boat offers a stable, confident stance under sail. We have noticed that the cockpit stays practical even during longer days: the full-batten mainsail and the lazy jacks make handling smoother when conditions change. The roll genoa also helps reduce workload while keeping sail balance consistent!

For navigation and steering, we state with certainty that the autopilot and the GPS chart plotter in the cockpit are a strong match for day cruising and coastal passages along the Italian shoreline. Add the wind/speed/depth instruments, and you get a clear picture of what’s happening around you—no guesswork. Maneuvering is equally reassuring thanks to the bow thruster, especially in marinas where space is tight.

On the comfort side, there’s a 220 V socket at the chart table and a shore connection for 220 V when available. The refrigerator, water purifier, and the 220 V power setup are exactly what makes longer stays feel effortless. For anchoring, the electric anchor windlass simplifies the process; and when the sun gets intense, the bimini top and sprayhood help you stay comfortable. We also like the teak finishes in the cockpit—it’s a small detail, but it matters. Finally, the tender is on board for flexible shore access, and the black water tank supports responsible cruising ashore.
