We’ve guided many guests through the Göcek region, and the Sun Odyssey 440 (built in 2021) is one of the most reassuring choices for a charter. This modern 13 m sailboat is designed for comfortable shared voyages, and we state with certainty that her layout suits both families and small groups. With 4 cabins and 8 berths in cabins, you get proper privacy without sacrificing the social space onboard. Actually, that balance is what our guests keep praising after sailing days in the Aegean breeze.
From our experience, the cockpit-first handling matters in Göcek’s busy marinas. Here, the yacht is equipped to support confident navigation and easier anchoring. The autopilot and GPS chart plotter in the cockpit reduce workload during longer stretches, while the VHF radio and radar reflector help with situational awareness when visibility changes. We also like the practical cockpit comfort: cushions, a cockpit shower, and a cockpit table with light—small details, big effect! The bimini top and sprayhood provide shade and cover when the sun turns sharp… or when a sudden squall passes.
On the sail plan side, the boat is set up for efficient performance under varying conditions, including a gennaker device for fast downwind work and roll systems for both genoa and mainsail. For safety and day-to-day readiness, we’ve noticed the presence of AIS and essential life-saving equipment, plus an electric anchor windlass and electric winches that make short stops less stressful.
